the producers were very nice to allow alexandra to appear on almost every televised performance. seeing as how brittny kissinger rarely missed a show, alexandra only went on as annie a handful of times, it was a nice way of including her in the group.

I think it depends on what the girls particular talents are. I did notice that they had more then just Molly tapping in the center, like they used to; now it's Duffy tapping. So, I think it just depends on what the gilrs can do. The Molly could do the middle splits, and maybe the girls they've had as Molly for the past few years couldn't do that. I like the kick-line better in this video, as opposed to the kick-line they have the girls doing now. The one in this video was a rockette kick-line. The ones they have the girls doing now is shorter, and they don't kick as high, but then again, maybe the girls in this one were stronger dancers, whereas the girls now are stronger in other areas.
Marisa, read back on the forum around Feb 2009 for a lot of discussion on this topic ! Basically Alexandra was the understudy but for undisclosed reasons, Brittny was secretly trained in the title role, went on as Annie when Joanna was ill, Joanna was fired, and Brittny opened and toured as the new Broadway Annie. Alexandra remained as understudy/swing...Joanna was sent home.....very strange story.
I really don´t know anything about what happened here in this case, and I really like all three of the girls, but I think, that a good swing is worth his/her weight in gold. Alexandra Kiesman was covering all the orphans (exept Molly) + Annie. To find, and rehearse, someone to be able to do that would take a lot of time and effort. I think it was a lot easier to move up one of the other girls to Annie, hire a new replacement for her and keep Alexandra Kiesman as a super.swing:-).
We will most likely never find out why the producers chose to replace Joanna Pacitti, but when they did, I think they tried to solve the castingissues as easy as possible. At least as easy as possible for the producers.
This is just my humble opinion though. I don´t have a clue about what really happened.
