30th Anniversary CD

So I've been listening to "Maybe" from the 30th Anniversary CD, and I must say that in the first half, Marissa sounds really...odd. I don't know why she sang like that, but she was really nasally and maybe trying to sound younger, but by the second half of the song she sounded more normal. I LOVE her voice, but does anyone know why in that particular recording she resembled, to quote someone on iTunes, like one of the 3 chipmunks?
don't get me wrong, I LOVE her, she's one of my all-time favorite annies.

I checked out the CD from the library then copied the whole thing to my Windows Media Player. I think it's the best Annie CD.; ▶ Reply to This

I'm sad, having just watched those annie clips, I wish the CD sounded like THAT!
That's The Voice I loved when I went to see Marissa as Annie, not what's on the CD. :(; ▶ Reply to This

well i have just a guess, she was younger in the clip, and i think there's an age when, even for girls, the voice changes and sometimes it's more difficult to sing... maybe she was in that age when they recorded. or maybe like someone said she had a cold. anyway, i still love the cd, but must admit this version of tomorrow was better, realy awesome!!

also, i think it sounds better when "say", "away" are more open, you see what i mean, but i think the girls were directed to sing it differently. at least Amanda Balon and Marissa on the cd sing it in a more "closed" way.. er, if i'm making any sense^^; ▶ Reply to This
