Does anyone know if Annie was ever on a postage stamp? I just came across an old box of stuff and found a Christmas ornament from 1979 (?) that was made to look like a postage stamp and says right on it "US Postal Service." On the stamplike ornament, there's a picture of Annie with Sandy. Just curious if anyone remembers these ornaments or if there were actually stamps that looked like the ornament.
You mentioned that you have an Annie record player. I have been searching for one for my daughter as it has sentimental value for her. She had one when she was a little girl, but her dad accidently through it out!
It was the square, and I believe it was the one made by Vanity Fair in 1982. Is this the same one you have and, if so, would you be willing to sell yours?
I have one as well. But I've had it since i was little, and I once accidentally spilled milk on the outside when I was about 6. oops... :S I didn't think anyone else had one!
Yes! I too have the ornament and stamp - the stamp was one of four comic strip stamps produced by the postal service. I THINK the stamps and ornament were produced sometime in the 1990s.
Yes, there was a Little Orphan Annie postage stamp. It was part of a 20-stamp mini-sheet of 32-cent stamps called "Comic Strip Classics," that also contained Dick Tracy, Popeye, and Prince Valiant. It was issued by the US Postal Service on October 1, 1995. Later on the stamp image was used on various collectibles.
